Center for Black Equity (CBE) DC Black Pride is a program of the Center for Black Equity (CBE). The CBE is a coalition of Black Pride organizers formed to promote a multinational network of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Prides and community-based organizations.
Mission
To promote a multinational LGBT network dedicated to improving health and wellness opportunities, economic empowerment, and equal rights while promoting individual and collective work, responsibility, and self-determination.
Vision
The vision of CBE is build a global network of LGBT individuals, allies, community-based organizations and prides dedicated to achieving equality and social justice for Black LGBT communities through Health Equity, Economic Equity and Social Equity.
Credo
We believe in dignity and respect for all human beings regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, religion and/or national origin.
We believe that all human beings have a right to live without fear of racism, homophobia, sexism, ageism, bigotry and/or prejudice.
We believe that all human beings have a right to affordable and quality, health care, education, housing and a right to earn a livable wage.
We believe that all human beings have a right to make decisions regarding their body/health and in lieu of being able to make such decisions themselves, has a right to designate a person of their choice whom they desire to assists them in making such decisions.
We believe that coalition building and collaboration with allies and supporters is key to achieving equal rights for all.
We believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.
